Australia finally announced their squad for Ashes 2017 and their were a few eyebrows raised at some weird selections. 

In comparison to England's squad, Australia side is lacking on experience with only four senior players playing. England has a relatively better balanced squad in all departments as compared to their hosts. 

Talking about the bowling unit, England has an upper hand over Australia because they have some quality swing opening bowlers like Anderson, Stuart Broad who can scatter Australia's top order easily. Moeen Ali is also bankable when it comes to spinning options.

Australia, on the other hand, is heavily dependent on Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon. Cummins is playing Test Cricket after a long gap and Hazlewood too needs more experience as a Test bowler. 

The selection of Tim Paine, Cameron Bancroft, and Chadd Sayers is quite surprising and astonishing as they have played only first-class cricket and no international matches. Paine will make a comeback into Test cricket after seven years, while Bancroft and Chad Sayers are yet to be exposed to international cricket. 

Tim Paine has shocked everyone after getting selected over Matthew Wade and Peter Nevill. He will be playing cricket after seven long years.he played his last Test match in 2010  against India at Bangalore. 

 Chief Selector of Australia Trevor Hons said Matthew Wade and Matt Renshaw are needed to find their form and potential back in domestic cricket for their respective teams.

Tim Paine has recently done well with the bat in his last cricket outing he had taken part in. Scoring a half-century for Australia XI against England he has impressed the selectors to back him for the marquee series. Cameron Bancroft has also scored one double hundred last week in domestic matches that made his way his team.

Paine will now be opening with the experienced player David Warner. He has a great challenge on his shoulders ahead of performing well in place of Matt Renshaw who has been out of form for a while now. 

The Australian selection panel headed by Mark Waugh had to beat a lot of criticism for backing a discarded player like Paine who had no recent international experience. 
 
Chadd Sayers, the South Australian cricket has also given a green card into the squad for the first two matches his role will be an extra seam option in the dugout.

Tim Paine surely has to pull up his socks as his form is not perfect in comparing it with Johnny Bairstow who has been playing as a full-time member of Englands team.

The selector was criticised by Stuart MacGill who also said selecting in-experienced Tim Paine might be the end of his road as a chief selector.The 32-year-old cricketer will be playing his first test match after seven long years. He played his last test long time ago against India at Banglore in 2011. He will definitely try to grab this opportunity and make himself a permanent member of the squad. 

The selection of Tim Paine, Shaun Marsh, and Cameron Bancroft was strongly made during the 24 hours scouting Cricket Australia announcement but Sayers promotion came as an extra seam option with the likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood.

Recently, Tim Paine was seen replacing Matthew wade in ODI series against India where Aussies lost miserably 4-1 to the men in blue. Only one first-class century playing all his career will not have Anderson and Broad worried about his batting.

To regain the Ashes, seniors players like David Warner, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon have to step up in the matches that will boost the confidence of juniors and inexperienced players who need a way to fight against the current winners and have the Ashes home.

Australia has never played with such an inexperienced side ever with Warne, Adam Gilchrist and Steve Waugh opposing the choice of selectors.

He will be replacing Matthew Wade who has already represented Australia in 22 matches with a low average of 28.58.Tim Paine has to prove his form as he only played 4 test matches in his cricketing career.

Australia is playing with a young and inexperienced side, it will be interesting to how they manage to take England down with only few experience and senior players. The selection of Australia's squad for Ashes is out of the box with so many new faces coming up for such a tough challenge.

Steven Smith(c), David Warner, Cameron Bancroft, Usman Khawaja, Peter Handscomb, Shaun Marsh, Tim Paine, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Jackson Bird, Chadd Sayers.

We have to now see who among these players get a chance to represent themselves in the playing XI on 23rd November. However the likes of Paine, Bancroft will have their tasks cut out.
