Shubman Gill may be the leader of the Indian cricket team, but he may definitely benefit from advice from past captains Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Gill hasn't had the best of luck with either bat or toss.
India has already lost the ODI series to Australia in Gill's first series as captain, and the side will battle for a consolation win in the dead rubber at the SCG on Saturday.
Australia got off to a quick start, with openers Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head smashing 61 in nine overs, but Gill demonstrated his true captaincy when he brilliantly rotated his spinners and, with the help of Kuldeep, Washington Sundar, and Axar Patel, choked Australia's scoring in the middle overs.
However, just to ensure that Gill remained active throughout, former captain Kohli jumped right in.
In between overs, Shubman Gill was walking past Virat Kohli to take his spot in the field. But Kohli walked up to Gill and grabbed him by the arm for a chat, and keeper KL Rahul joined in as well.
As the current captain listened to the two former captains, Gill took in what Kohli had to say. Kohli spoke the most, while Gill spoke very little. The conversation lasted only 10 seconds before all three scattered into the field. However, one of them paid off significantly.
"Virat Kohli seen here talking to Shubman Gill, KL Rahul. I can see the involvement since the last few overs. He has the experience. Captain ka darja shayad nahi ho par experience hai (They may not be captains, but they have the experience. Be it Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, or KL Rahul. They can share all their knowledge, although eventually it's up to Gill whether he wants to implement it," the commentator said.

The chat worked as Australia was restricted to 236 runs in their innings despite a fifty by Matt Renshaw, while Harshit Rana took 4/39 for India.
