WATCH: Kagiso Rabada delivers a ball to point; umpire calls it a dead ball

The incident happened during the only T20I between Australia and South Africa.

Kagiso Rabada | GETTY

South African pacer Kagiso Rabada is known for his accuracy with a lethal pace which gives the batsman a hard time facing him. But what happened against Australia was shocking and hilarious at the same time. Rabada lost the grip of the ball just when he was about to deliver the ball. What happened next left everyone giggling.

The ball slipped out of Rabada's hand who was bowling the second last over of Australia's chase in the only T20I against South Africa, and it went to the point region.

The batsman was Glenn Maxwell who was searching for the ball in orbit. He usually does that after hitting the ball. But this time the ball didn't even reached him to send it out of the park.

Everyone, including commentators, started guessing what umpires will call this delivery? A wide or a no ball? But after a brief chat between the on-field umpires, they decided to call it a dead ball.

The crowd were upset with the decision, as they wanted the umpires to call it a no-ball. At that stage, Australia needed 41 runs in 10 balls. They were chasing 109 runs in 10 overs. Eventually, they lost the game by 21 runs as they could only 87 with the loss of 7 wickets.
