Australia head coach Justin Langer is yet to taste a success of a series since he took over as the full-time coach but still is confident that the better things are come to for his struggling side, saying the Kangaroos are moving in the right direction.

Despite facing fifth straight bilateral one-day international series defeat –two of those came under Langer on Sunday against South Africa at home, Coach took a lot of positive signs from their show in the last few months that raises his hopes of getting success in the coming days.

Langer, who is yet to guide Australia to a series win across his first five campaigns across all formats, while the Kangaroos managed only five wins across 20 matches with one draw and 14 losses, is disappointed with the results but is confident of getting positive results soon.

He is impressed the way Aussie has shown the courage in last month’s draw in the first Test against Pakistan, second ODI wins against South Africa at Adelaide and a spirited display in the final ODI.

The coach is now looking forward to the Saturday’s (November 17) one-off T20 International against South Africa and he would be certainly hoping a positive result from his young team.

Langer told reporters in Perth, “It was disappointing to lose. There’s definitely signs of improvement though. The way we played the first Test match (against Pakistan), fought through that. The way we played that second one-day international, the way we fought for a lot of this series, there’s positive signs and now it’s to the T20 mode (on Saturday).”

He also believes that the final 10 overs at Hobart, in which South Africa amassed 105 runs, cost the Australian the ODI series at home. Langer signed off by saying, “There’s definitely light at the end of the tunnel. There was great relief and great hope after Adelaide and we played so well for so much of that game yesterday … I think we’re moving in the right direction.”
