When KL Rahul was batting in the second innings, he was provoked by the Australian pacer Pat Cummins. Few words were exchanged between Rahul and Cummins. Apart from words, there was a good cricket battle between them as well. Rahul was later dismissed on 44 but the bowler was Josh Hazlewood.

It seemed like the verbal war has ended there only. But that's not true. When Cummins came out to bat in the second innings, Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant gave it back to the Aussie cricketer from behind.

The hosts were in the middle of a tough situation as India were cruising towards a win. Australia was 6 down on 156 in a chase of 323 runs when Cummins came out to bat.

During R Ashwin's over, when Pant got a chase to come close to stumps, he started blabbering from behind the wicket. His words were, “Let’s see some sixes, come on Patty”, “Not going for the shots Patty?” and “Tough to play here” while also cheering for Indian spinner Ashwin. The incident happened in the 75th over of the match when Cummins was new to the crease.

However, it didn't affect him as the lower order batsman went on to score a fighting 28 runs. He survived for 121 balls in the middle as Australia fall 31 runs short of a victory in Adelaide Test.

Despite a strong comeback by Australian lower order, India managed to wrap up the Australian innings on 291 runs.
