India's pacer T Natarajan, who made his debut in all three formats on the Australia tour, said the support of his teammates filled him with confidence which reflected in his performance.

After playing the limited-overs series, Natarajan also got to feature in the last Test match after regular members of the bowling attack got injured. The pacer picked up three wickets in the match; two of them came at the right time during the first innings of Australia to shift the momentum in India's favor.

Speaking at his hometown of Salem in Tamil Nadu, Natarajan said, "Other players supported me in the dressing room. Their motivation and support helped me."

Coming into the team in the series decider, the 29-year-old felt the pressure of performance. "I was under pressure to perform when the opportunity was offered. My only thought was to take wickets", he said.

Natarajan said taking wickets in the fourth Test felt like a dream to him. The pacer had stayed in Australia after the limited-overs series as a net bowler. "It was like a dream to take Australian wickets", he said.

The Tamil Nadu pacer had to miss the birth of his child because of IPL 2020. He then joined Team India for the tour Down Under and the wait to see his child only got longer. But Natarajan was focused to play for the country and make his hard work pay off.

"More than the newborn, my wife and I were proud that I could play for my country", he said.

"Hard work will never go to waste. It is always rewarding," he added.
