Batting great Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday applauded Team India’s effort of 2-1 series win over Australia at their home soil and said that the Indian team bouncing back after being bundled out for 36 in the first Test should be a lesson for everyone.
After a batting debacle in the first Test match at Adelaide, Team India faced lots of criticism, and especially with regular skipper, Virat Kohli, not being available for the rest of the series many pundits said that the visiting team will face a 4-0 drubbing.
Replying to every critic Team India led by Ajinkya Rahane in Virat Kohli's absence, despite being battered and bruised, showed great character and application to register historic victories at Melbourne (MCG) and Gabba, Brisbane. The team also registered a famous draw in Sydney.
Going into the Brisbane Test, Australia were favorites to win because of their remarkable record at Gabba, Brisbane, as the hosts never lost a Test-match at the venue since 1988.
Australia fortress, the Gabba, was finally breached after 32 years and two months as Ajinkya Rahane and his men defeated hosts by 3 wickets to clinch the Border-Gavaskar trophy by 2-1.
India legend Sachin Tendulkar heaped up praise for the injury-ravaged young Indian team and said that being bundled out for 36 in the first Test wasn’t the end of the world.
“For all of us in India & across the world, if you ever score 36 or lesser in life, remember: it isn’t the end of the world. The spring stretches back only to propel you forward. And you succeed, don’t forget to celebrate with those who stood by you when the world wrote you off,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.
