Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant on Tuesday (January 19) said India’s 3-wicket win against Australia in the fourth and final Test at The Gabba is one of the biggest moments of his life while describing the Test series win as a “dream series” for him.

Chasing 328 to win the final Test and series, Pant played a brilliant knock of unbeaten 89 off 138 balls laced with 9 fours and 1 six, as well as hitting the match-winning boundary to help Team India breach Australia's fortress at The Gabba by winning the four-Test series decider by 3 wickets with 18 balls to spare and secured an incredible Test series win 2-1 on Tuesday.

With the thrilling win, India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Australian soil for the second consecutive time while facing all odds both on and off the field throughout the Test series.

During the course of his match-winning knock in the Brisbane Test, Pant also completed 1000 Test runs and he appreciated all the support staff and all his teammates for supporting him in tough conditions.

Pant said after helping India script historic Test series triumph on Tuesday: “This is one of the biggest moments of my life now, and I'm happy that all the support staff and all my teammates supported me even when I wasn't playing.”

He further added, “It's been a dream series. The team management always backs me and tells me, you are a match-winner and you have to go win the match for the team. I keep thinking every day that I want to win matches for India, and I did it today. It was a fifth-day pitch and the ball was turning a bit. I thought I have to be disciplined with my shot selection.”

Noteworthy, this Test series win in Australia is more special as the team achieved the famous win while fighting out multiple injuries and without their key players including Virat Kohli.
