India defeated Australia at the Gabba to win the Test series 2-1 and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Before the series, the cricket pundits gave Team India no chance to survive against a full-strength Australia side.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan had predicted a 4-0 series loss for India. He had to eat a humble pie after India managed to win at the MCG. But he continued backing Australia to win the series 3-1.
Now, after India managed to take down Australia with an inexperienced side, Vaughan praised the Indian team on Instagram. "That feeling when you predict #India would lose 4-0 if they lost in Adelaide !!! Without question, it has to be the greatest Test series win of all time ... Well done India !!! Incredible character, resilience & tremendous skill shown .. !!! #AUSvIND !!"(Sic), he wrote.
Vaughan couldn't stop messing with Indian cricket fans after the win at Gabba. He recalled his prediction and had to once again embarrassingly accept that Team India stunned him with their performance.
Before the last Test, Vaughan had also taken a jibe at the Indian cricket team over their unwillingness to travel to Brisbane for the last Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
