India bravely batted out the last day at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) to draw the Third Test despite several injuries to their players before and during the match. Already without Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and KL Rahul due to injuries, the visitors saw Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant getting injured on Day 3.

Hanuma Vihari also hurt his hamstring on the last day but battled on with Ravichandran Ashwin for almost 43 overs to save the Test for India, who finished at 334/5 in 131 overs while chasing a target of 407.

India has shown great character on the ongoing tour to overcome the horror at Adelaide when the side crashed for just 36 in the second innings to lose by 8 wickets, to win the Boxing Day Test by 8 wickets at Melbourne and then this "as good as a win" draw will only give further confidence to the Ajinkya Rahane-led side.

Their challenge in the fourth Test will be to overcome Australia's unbeaten 33-year streak at Gabba in Brisbane and find a fit playing XI that will be capable of competing. But the special result at SCG will no doubt give the side belief.

Team India members took to Twitter after the win and expressed their satisfaction on being able to come out of a tough situation with a draw. Here are the tweets:
