India's stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane got his name featured on the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) honors board. He scored a hundred in the first innings of the second Test.
A player gets his name engraved in the honors board by scoring a century or taking five wickets in an innings. Rahane's 112 came for India at the right time which helped the visitors level the series 1-1.
After registering their 12th Test hundred, Rahane has now featured on the MCG Honours Board for the second time in his career. BCCI shared a video of the moment on Twitter.
"After leading from the front with a fantastic ton in the Boxing Day Test against Australia, @ajinkyarahane88 has his name engraved on the MCG Honours Board for the second time. ???????? #TeamIndia #AUSvIND", wrote BCCI.
Rahane, who won Man of the Match in the Boxing Day Test, had received the Mullagh Medal on Tuesday. He is the first recipient of the iconic medal which is named in honor of former Indigenous Australian cricketer Johnny Mullagh.
