AUS v IND 2020-21: "Setback Ka Jawaab Comeback Se" - Amitabh Bachchan hails India's MCG win

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan was ecstatic as the Indian cricket team made an amazing comeback and pulled off a thrilling 8-wicket win in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne to level the four-match Test series against Australia on Tuesday (December 29).

After suffering a humiliating 8-wicket defeat in the first Day-Night Test in Adelaide, Team India hit the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) aiming to take revenge for their embarrassing defeat and they did it by thrashing Australia by 8 wickets in the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test on Tuesday.

In the Boxing Day Test, Indians were top of their game in all departments especially bowling as the tourists’ bowlers didn’t allow the Australians to cross the 200-mark in both innings to clinch the massive victory in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Jasprit Bumrah, R Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja were the top performers for India while the stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane produced the player of the match performance at the MCG.

While the entire nation was overjoyed with the win, the iconic actor Bachchan was among the spectators who celebrated India’s thrilling win over Australia in the second Test on Tuesday.

Taking to Twitter, the 78-year-old actor said the Indian cricket team gave a befitting reply to Australia of its previous test match’s “setback” with a powerful “comeback” in the Boxing Day Test and even at their own home while congratulating the team for the victory.

He tweeted: “YEEEEAAAAHHHHHHH !!! India beats Australia in the 2nd test…Bola tha na maine…SETBACK ka jawaab COMBACK se denge ….! de diya ….unke ghar mein ghus ke  .. !! Congratulations India.”

Meanwhile, Telugu actor Venkatesh Daggubati also took to Twitter to hail India’s “magnificent win” at the MCG and lauded the “amazing effort” by the whole team to come back in the series.

Noteworthy, the third Test of the four-Test series will be played from January 3.
