AUS v IND 2020-21: "It's unfair!" Fans compare Rahane's run-out with Paine's similar close call

Twitterati felt Ajinkya Rahane was wrongly given out by the third umpire.

India's stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane was run-out after a well made 112 runs in the first innings of the second Test match. Rahane had gone for a single when Ravindra Jadeja was batting on 49 but couldn't make it.

The replay showed Rahane's bat was on the line and he failed to enter the crease. It reminded fans of Tim Paine's run-out appeal and he was given not-out after a close call.

Fans on Twitter were not happy with Rahane being given run-out while Australia captain got away with it. The India skipper was looking good to take India's lead over 150 with ease.

"The third umpire has got a shot here of the separation point and the bat on the line."

However, it couldn't happen as India's last five wickets could only add 32 runs. The clusters of wickets came after India lost Rahane with a score of 294, and they were soon bowled out on 326
