Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was slammed on Twitter after he felt team India has different rules for different players.
He shared the example of T Natarajan who hasn't seen his newborn baby after being asked to be a net bowler in the Test series, while India captain Virat Kohli was granted paternity leave after the first Test.
Kohli left the team on December 22 after playing the pink-ball Test at Adelaide which India lost by 8 wickets.
“(T Natarajan) had become a father for the first time even as the IPL playoffs were going on. He was asked to stay on for the (Australia) Test series but not as a part of the team but as a net bowler. Imagine that. A match-winner, albeit in another format, being asked to be a net bowler", he wrote in a StarSports column.
Gavaskar's statement didn't go down well with cricket fans on Twitter and they felt he is targeting India skipper Kohli continuously. Before his recent comments, he was under heavy criticism for bringing Anushka Sharma into discussion on-air during the Indian Premier League 2020.
