Former Australia spinner Shane Warne didn't let go umpire Bruce Oxenford easily over his terrible umpiring. He slammed him for the poor decisions during his commentary stint in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The umpire had given a wrong short-run and he also ruled Nathan Lyon out leg before wicket despite a big inside edge. Oxenford played for Queensland during the 1991/92 and 1992/93 seasons, while Warne featured in the Victoria side during same time.

Going hard against Oxenford after his decision for Lyon, Warne said on Fox Cricket, “People have said to me outside the back of this ground that you might be a tough on Bruce Oxenford, but you can’t keep getting these decisions wrong,”

“This is a huge mistake. Look how much that deviates. You could hear the two noises straight away. What is Bruce Oxenford looking at? He is having an absolute stinker Bruce Oxenford."

He continued, talking about the short run. “He just continually makes errors like this. We saw yesterday he gave a short run to India, which just wasn’t a short run. Everyone can make a mistake, but he has made three or four.”

Talking about Joe Burns' dismissal on the second day, Warne said poor umpiring can haunt a player for a long time and it may also end a career.

“Umpires can end your careers. Joe Burns’ decision was probably going down leg side but because of umpires call is still in play and it was maybe clipping maybe missing. But because he gave him out it gets given. He could cost Joe Burns his career by these mistakes,” Warne said.
