Australia batsman Steve Smith returned to the nets which means he is fine to take the field in the first Test against India in Adelaide starting December 17. The star batter had walked out of the practice area without any batting practice on Tuesday.

Smith's injury scare had left the Australia camp tensed. Australia is already missing a lot of players due to various injuries and if Smith would have had something serious, it would have dented their chances of fighting against Virat Kohli's Indian team.

Cricket Australia shared a video on Twitter when Smith returned to the nets session. "Steve Smith back in the nets today #AUSvIND," wrote cricket.com.au.

“We expect Steve to be there. He has had a stiff back a number of times before and you can have that if you bat as much as he does at the nets,” Australia captain Tim Paine had said at the pre-match media interaction.

“He has a stiff back before and yesterday was more precautionary. Obviously, come tomorrow, he gets through the stiff back and finds a way to score runs like he always does,” he added.
