As the preparations for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy are in full swing, former India cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has picked his wicketkeeper-batsman for India for the first Test of the four-match Test series against Australia starting December 17 in Adelaide.

After the 6-match limited-overs series finished last week, the focus of both teams Australia and India has now shifted to the all-important four-Test series with the hosts battling number of injuries while the Indian team management is facing a dilemma for the wicket-keeping spot.

Well, India has to make choice between Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha for the Test fixtures and the national team management might be tempted to go with the experienced Bengal cricketer to keep wickets against Australia given his batting ability and wicket-keeping skills.

Recently, Saha was preferred over Pant for the first tour game, however, they both are playing in the ongoing pink-ball tour game against Australia A in Sydney.

Meanwhile, Manjrekar revealed his pick for the first Test when a Twitter user asked his opinion for the same. He named veteran Saha as his pick for the first Test against Australia.

He wrote, “In Tests always keeping skills first. Drop a Steve Smith early and he gets a 200! So Saha. Also need a better keeper against pace in Australia. Again Saha”.
