The Indian team is currently embroiled in a very important practice match at the SCG as they face Australia A in the day-night warmup game before the start of the Test series. The first Test of the four-match Border-Gavaskar Series will be a pink ball encounter in Adelaide.

Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bat first, but the Indian batting capsized in front of some good bowling with the pink ball from Sean Abbott and Jake Wildermuth, both of whom picked 3 wickets apiece.

Prithvi Shaw (40) and Shubman Gill (43) were the only batsmen who stood up to the Aussie bowlers before India saw themselves being 123/9 when perhaps the most entertaining partnership of the match started between Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

The duo put on 71 runs with Siraj making 22 with 2 fours and 1 six. But the man of the moment proved to be Jasprit Bumrah, who slammed his maiden first-class fifty. He cut and pull and drove the Aussie bowlers mad. Hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes, Bumrah remained unbeaten on 55 runs, with his half-century coming off a hook that went for a six.

India ended up on 194, thanks to the entertainment provided by Bumrah, and the cricket fraternity rightfully applauded his knock on Twitter.
