Australia was hit by another injury blow as the in-form all-rounder Moises Henriques was ruled out of Australia A tour game against India due to a low-grade left hamstring strain on Thursday.

However, the 33-year-old wasn’t part of the Australia Test squad for the upcoming Test series but was named in the 12-member Australia A squad for the second warm-up game, a day-night affair, starting December 11 (Friday) against India at Sydney Cricket Ground.

It was a major blow for the Sydney Sixers as Henriques will miss at least the first two games of the defending champions in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2020-21.

Australia has recalled Queensland all-rounder Jack Wildermuth as a replacement for injured Henriques in Australia A squad for the pink ball tour game against India.

A “The West Australia” report stated on December 10: “Hamstrung all-rounder Moises Henriques will miss the pink-ball tour game at the SCG as Australia's injury toll continues to grow.”

The report further reads, “Queensland all-rounder Jack Wildermuth has been parachuted into Australia A squad on the eve of the match that begins at the SCG on Friday.”

Noteworthy, Henriques underwent some scans on Wednesday, December 9, which revealed a low-grade left hamstring strain to the all-rounder.

Australia is already dealing with a lot of injuries with David Warner ruled out of the first Test due to a groin injury, Will Pucovski is recovering from a concussion while the pace duo of Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc also reporting minor niggles.

Earlier, all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and spinner Ashton Agar missed the white ball games against India due to a side strain and calf injury respectively.
