Australian captain Aaron Finch was proud of his side's performance in the third and final T20I match and the recently concluded series as well despite losing the T20I series 1-2 to the Indian cricket team.

The captain further said he was feeling “very good” after Australia on the right side of the result in the final game, as the hosts managed to escape a whitewash in the three-match T20I series by winning the final T20I by 12 runs on Tuesday (December 8) in Sydney.

Finch said in the post-match presentation, “Very good to be back and good to be on the right side of the result. It was a great series, and we just happened to be on the wrong end of the first two. We played some great white-ball cricket over the last 18 months and really proud of the bunch.”

Finch was highly impressed with the spin duo of Adam Zampa and Mitchell Swepson and the courage they showed against Team India, especially against destructive Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli while crediting the two leg-spinners to the victory for playing bold cricket at SCG on Tuesday.

Swepson produced a Man of the Match performance with the ball, taking three wickets, while Zampa sealed a 12-run win for Australia by taking the important wicket of in-form all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

Finch signed off by saying, “It’s the first time we’ve had two leg-spinners in the side, and they were bold with the short boundaries here, so credit to both of them. Swepson bowled the 7th over against Dhawan and Virat both destructive in their own ways, but Zampa bowled really well as well, and that shows a lot of character from two guys to bowl to a really short boundary here. It shows a lot of courage, they backed their skills really well. I'm proud of them.”
