Cricket umpires are always under scrutiny for the decisions they make during the match, but apart from that, they are usually not the focal point in any game. However, in the third T20I between Australia and India at the SCG, one umpire became the focus of social media due to an unfortunate incident.
Umpire Gerard Abood, who was one of two umpires in the match alongside Rod Tucker, got a headache after he banged his head into the Spidercam while walking back to his usual position behind the stumps. Abood was looking down while walking and didn’t notice the equipment was at his eye level.

He smashed his head in the camera and then ducked, walking away rubbing his head. The Twitter handle of Cricket Australia's website clearly saw the funny side of it all.
They tweeted a clip of the video along with the caption "So that's why Gerard Abood wears the helmet," referencing the fact that the umpire tends to wear a cricket helmet while officiating.
Not only this, but the Twitterverse got fodder to make fun of the umpire’s misfortune and accident.
