India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series after winning the second match by six wickets with two balls to spare at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday (December 6).

Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl first on a run-filled pitch. Both sides made three changes due to injuries and other reasons. Australia piled up 194/5 with stand-in captain Matthew Wade scoring 58 and Steve Smith making 46. T Natarajan was impressive with 2/20 in his four overs while other bowlers conceded plenty.

India chased down the testing target in the final over with Hardik Pandya (42*) smashing debutant Daniel Sams for two sixes. Birthday boy Shreyas Iyer also hit a 111-metre six in his 12* off five balls. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan (52), KL Rahul (30), and Virat Kohli (40) made important contributions.

Kohli's stunning scoop shot for six off Andrew Tye became a talking point due to the similarity of it with his good friend and RCB teammate AB de Villiers, who has mastered the incredibly tough shot over the years.

Kohli himself seemed surprised with how well he hit the ball, as he said in jest at the post-match presentation ceremony, “It (scoop over fine leg) was a bit of funny moment, surprised myself there, I will send AB a text tonight and see what he thinks of it.”

A little while later, AB de Villiers reacted to the shot by replying a tweet with emojis expressing his happiness to see his buddy play the shot so well. Here is the tweet:
