AUS v IND 2020-21: ‘Team India have the best No. 6 and No. 7 in T20 cricket’, reckons Brad Hogg

Hogg feels the visitors are favourites to win the T20I series in Australia.

Team India have played 8 T20Is in 2020 and they are yet to lose a match this year. The Men in Blue started the year with a 2-0 series win over Sri Lanka at home and then whitewashed New Zealand 5-0 away from home.

After a convincing 11-run victory over Australia in the first T20I at Canberra on Friday (December 4), Virat Kohli and company extended their winning streak to 8.

No wonder, former Australia spinner Brad Hogg believes Team India are the most balanced side in world cricket in the shortest format.

According to Hogg, the key reason behind that is the presence of Hardik Pandya as the No. 6 batsman followed by Ravindra Jadeja.

“If you are going to win the T20 World Cup, your No. 6 and No. 7 batsman are the most vital cogs in your batting line-up. Because they are the ones that are going to finish off an innings like Jadeja and Pandya do quite often.

“That is the advantage that India have over all the other teams. They have the best No. 6 and No. 7 in T20 cricket. So, India should not change their batting line-up,” Brad Hogg said on his YouTube channel.

Trailing 0-1 in the T20I series, Australia will look to bounce back in order to stay alive in the three-match series when they face India in the second game at SCG on Sunday (December 6).

Hogg, however, reckons that the visitors are favourites to win the T20I series in Australia.

“India last night were too good for Australia, they are the better T20 team. They have got a wonderful outfit. They have got batting depth as well as quality bowlers.

“If Australia have got an advantage it is in the bowling department, but India across the board are sensational,” he remarked.
