Former India batsman and now commentator Sanjay Manjrekar is known for his comments on all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. It all stems from him calling Jadeja a 'bits and pieces cricketer' during the 2019 World Cup, to which Jadeja asked Manjrekar to stop his verbal diarrhea.

Since then the two have traded barbs on social media and Manjrekar’s unprofessional conduct on air also led to his dismissal from BCCI’s commentary panel.

However, he was hired by Sony Network in their commentary team for the Australia-India series and Manjrekar turned heads when he left out Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya out of his Predicted India playing XI for the first ODI match.

His criticism increased as Jadeja failed to pick enough wickets with the ball, despite adding much needed runs as India lost the first two matches and the series.

However, Both Pandya and Jadeja played crucial roles in India winning the third ODI, as they made 92* and 66* respectively and added 150 unbeaten runs for the 6th wicket. Their assault in the last ten overs enabled India to post 302/5 on the board, despite being 152/5 at one stage with Kohli back in the hut for 63 runs.

Indian bowlers did their job in Canberra as India won the third ODI by 13 runs.

This led to Wasim Jaffer, the newest meme king on social media to take a silly dig at Manjrekar and tweeted, “While we appreciate those who contributed on the field let's not forget the contribution of those working off the field too like my good friend @sanjaymanjrekar #AusvInd”

This was seemingly Jaffer pulling Manjrekar’s leg as both Pandya, who scored 90 and 92* in two out of 3 matches and Jadeja who did well also, were not chosen by the Mumbaikar in his XI, as he opted to pick specialist players in his team.
