Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah spent the entire year 2020 without picking a single wicket in the first powerplay overs in ODIs. Bumrah did not enjoy the best of the year in international cricket with the ball as his struggles were visible during the New Zealand tour earlier this year.

He has been struggling in Australia as well in the previous two ODIs, picking up two wickets for 152 runs. But he has been unable to pick a single wicket in the first 10 overs of the innings, which has hurt India pretty badly. Bumrah’s struggle with the new ball allowed Australia to post huge totals in the first two ODIs.

In total, Bumrah has bowled 34 overs in the powerplay in 2020, but he has returned without a wicket.

In the third ODI, India batted first and put on 302/5 thanks to a 150*-run sixth-wicket partnership between Hardik Pandya (92*) and Ravindra Jadeja (66*). Virat Kohli also made 63 runs.
