Thanks to his brilliance in the IPL 2020, T Natarajan forced his way into the Indian team and he received his maiden ODI cap during the third match against Australia on Wednesday (December 2).
The left-arm pacer replaced Navdeep Saini in the playing XI which also included Shubman Gill, Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur.
Natarajan was handed cap number 232 by skipper Virat Kohli ahead of the toss in Canberra.

Notably, Natarajan was earlier drafted into the T20I squad after an injury to spinner Varun Chakravarathy. He was later added to the ODI squad as cover for Saini, who had complained of back spasm.
Natarajan plied his trade for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the recently held IPL in UAE. The 29-year-old claimed 16 wickets in the cash-rich event at an average of 31.50.
