Fans and pundits had expected Team India to do wonders in the ongoing tour of Australia, as the Virat Kohli-led side entered into the white-ball series with some top performers in the 13th edition of IPL.

However, the Men in Blue failed to live up to the expectations and coped heavy losses in the first two ODIs to concede the three-match series.

Reflecting on India’s dismal show, former pacer RP Singh said that the switch from T20 to ODIs is not easy and the pressure mounts when you find yourself playing at the international level.

"When you move from the T20 format to the ODI format, there comes a lot of difference and when you are playing the international games, challenges are higher and different as well. Just two matches cannot decide how India will fare in the remainder of the tour,” Singh quoted as saying by TOI.

“Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are one of the world's best bowlers and even our bench strength is good enough. So it is more about clicking, and definitely we will bounce back against the Aussies," he added.

After the final ODI on Wednesday (December 2), Team India will take on Australia in three T20Is and four Tests.

On a different note, RP Singh also shared his two cents on cricketer's selection on the basis of the performance in the Indian Premier League.

"Performance in the IPL cannot be perceived as an illusion, but it can be a parameter to identify talent. At the same time we have to look at the players who are performing well in the domestic circuit," he remarked.
