Steve Smith smashed yet another dazzling century as Australia thrashed India by 51 runs in the second ODI at SCG on Sunday (November 29). By virtue of this victory, the hosts also took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Batting at No. 3, Smith played the starring role in taking Australia to a mammoth 389/4 with an imperious knock of 104 from just 64 balls. It was his second successive ton in the series after a glorious 105 off 66 balls in the first ODI on Friday (November 27).

In both the games, Smith completed his ton in 62 deliveries and earned the Player-of-the-Match award.
Despite his dominance, controversial India pacer Sreesanth feels that Smith is a lucky batsman even though he has class.
On Twitter, when a leading cricket website asked the followers to describe Steve Smith, Sreesanth replied: “Is very classy but lucky as he is got all the support nd encouragement literally most bowlers bowling to his strength.I still believe he is vulnerable to swinging ball .u got to pitch it up and swing it ..not many like it anyways or no one is bowling with confidence.”
It is worth mentioning here that Steve Smith holds the No. 1 position in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen. The right-hander averages 62.84 in the longest format, while his average reads 43.71 in ODIs after 127 games with 4371 runs.
