Former Indian keeper-batsman Kiran More is worried about the workload of the national team’s all-format players especially fast-bowling stars Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami.

Indian cricket team stars like Bumrah, Shami, and Hardik Pandya have faced certain issues in the last 1-2 years having played cricket in all three formats for India and the team’s two pillars of the pact attack has had back issues and due to which they had to miss a considerable amount of action last year.

Well, they are now in Australia for a nearly three-month-long tour and More feels the Indian team management should closely monitor the workload of the pacers as they have a tough Test challenger ahead after 6 limited-overs cricket against Aaron Finch and his team.

With workload being a significant factor in producing the desired results, More has suggested the think-tank to rest Shami and Bumrah alternatively in the white-ball series, as he feels India can’t afford to have injuries to their bowlers as they have already shorn of Virat Kohli leaving home midway.

More told Times of India, “The only thing I am worried about is Bumrah. He is going to play ODIs, T20Is, and Test matches. I think I will look at resting Bumrah, and also Shami. Preserve more for Test cricket.”

He further explained, “I will prefer to give rest to them in some of the matches, depending on the situation in the series, it doesn’t matter if I lose also. Go with one guy in one T20 with two young fast bowlers, even in One-day cricket. I will not go with both of them, need to rest one of them all the time. Play two matches, give rest, and then play two matches.”

More signed off by saying, “We need to give an opportunity to the young fast bowlers, who can get experience before the next World Cup. In ODIs, it depends on what sort of batting line-up Australia plays. I don’t mind going even with three spinners at some of the grounds because we have Jadeja who can also bat and bowl ten overs.”
