AUS v IND 2020-21: Team India lands in Sydney, Kohli to get rugby legend’s suite during quarantine

With New South Wales government allowing the 25-member Indian contingent to train during the two-week isolation period, their sessions will be held at the Blacktown International Sports Park, which has also been turned into a bio-secure bubble.

As per a report in Daily Telegraph, captain Kohli is set to get a special treatment during the quarantine period. The authorities of Pullman Hotel, where the Indian team would stay for the next two weeks, will provide him a special penthouse suite where Australian rugby legend Brad Fittler normally puts up.

The report claims that a limited number of families are also being allowed by the NSW state government and the players’ families will have to obey the quarantine guidelines.

On the other hand, the Australian cricketers participating in IPL also returned from UAE and they will join their national team’s camp from November 22.

Team India will also play three ODIs (November 27-December 2) and as many T20Is (December 4- December 8) during the tour Down Under.

The battle for the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy will kick-start with the pink-ball affair at the Adelaide Oval on December 17. Melbourne will host the second Test from December 26 while the third and fourth Tests will be played in Sydney Cricket Ground (January 7-11) and Brisbane's Gabba (January 15-19), respectively.

The Indian skipper will miss three Tests due to the birth of his first child. Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma are expecting a child in January, and the captain has been granted permission by the BCCI to return home after the Test series opener.
