Avesh Khan, the India pacer, was in complete awe of his teammate Ravi Bishnoi’s brilliance on the field during the third T20I of the five-match series against Zimbabwe on July 10. India won the match by 23 runs to go 2-1 up in the series.

India had opted to bat first thanks to captain Shubman Gill’s 66. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 36 and Ruturaj Gaikwad’s quickfire 49, India posted 182/4 in Harare. Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza picked two wickets each for the hosts.

In response, only Dion Myers (65*) and Clive Madande (37) could withstand the Indian bowling and Zimbabwe managed 159/6 in 20 overs, losing by 23 runs. Washington Sundar picked 3/15 and was named Player of the Match, while Avesh Khan took two wickets.

During a post-match chat for BCCI TV, Avesh Khan lauded Ravi Bishnoi a lot for a brilliant catch he took. Brian Bennett was looking dangerous in the chase, however, he tried to cut a short ball by Avesh over the backward point’s head.

Bishnoi stationed at the position, leaped high in the air and got both hands to the ball, to complete a brilliant catch. Even the batter had to smile in reaction to the catch.

"We were shocked. He is a good fielder and works on his fielding. I got the wicket, but it should go in his tally (Wicket mera ha khaate me uske jaana chahiye),” Avesh Khan said in a BCCI video.

Rinku Singh also acknowledged Bishnoi's remarkable catch but mentioned that he believes he has taken even better catches in his career.

"He has caught better catches than that. It was an outstanding catch," Rinku said.

India captain Shubman Gill heaped praise on the young spinner and said, "It was delightful to watch. Very happy with the team's win. The catch that Bishi (Bishnoi) took was absolutely remarkable. Cricket is a team sport. It is very important to have fun when you are fielding, and if you are having fun, then you are always in the game."
