The five-T20I series is slated to get underway on July 6 in Harare.
Notably, a young Indian team led by Shubman Gill will take on Zimbabwe on this tour while National Cricket Academy (NCA) head VVS Laxman will oversee the role of head coach.
Upon their arrival in Zimbabwe, the team received a warm welcome. In a video shared by Zimbabwe Cricket on social media platform X, Laxman could be seen emerging from the arrivals gate along with other members of the support staff followed by the Indian cricketers.
The BCCI on Tuesday (July 2) announced the inclusion of batter Sai Sudharsan, wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma and fast bowler Harshit Rana to the Indian squad for the two T20Is against Zimbabwe.
The trio have replaced Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who are stranded in Barbados along with the T20 World Cup-winning Indian team due to Hurricane Beryl and are likely to join the squad later.
