The five-match T20I series will start from Friday (July 29).
West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran has openly sent a warning to Team India not to take them lightly, as they are a stronger team in T20I cricket and believe they can beat the 'Men In Blue' in the upcoming five-match T20I series, starting on Friday (July 29) at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium.
Pooran said that the Indian team might have whitewashed West Indies in the ODI series, but it would be really tough for the touring side to beat the hosts in the T20I series despite the return of Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Kuldeep Yadav.
Nicholas Pooran said at the pre-match press conference: “West Indies will be a different unit in the T20I cricket. We can beat India in the series. The guys are up for the challenge and are pumped up to face India, and we are ready for it.”
Sharing his plans for the T20I series against India, the West Indies captain said: “We need to build on partnerships and it is also nice to have Shimron Hetmyer back in the team. He passed the fitness test and it is always great to have a player of his quality back in the team.”
Pooran signed off by saying, “The guys are up for the challenge and are pumped up to face India, and we are ready for it.”
