The likes of Rohit, Kohli, Pant, Bumrah and Pandya aren't part of the West Indies ODI squad.
While the ODIs will be held at Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad, the T20I series will take place across three different venues in Trinidad, St Kitts and Florida. The tour will run from July 22 to August 7.
For the ODI series, the BCCI on Wednesday (July 7) named a 16-member squad that didn’t feature first-choice players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya. Opener Shikhar Dhawan has been named captain for the 50-over series with Ravindra Jadeja being his deputy.

However, the visitors are likely to field a near full-strength squad for the T20I series, Cricbuzz reported on Thursday (July 7).
According to the report, the selection committee will make sure all T20I regulars are participating in the series with the possible exception of Kohli.
The report further says that team management under head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit wants to try out all possible combinations before finalising the squad for the T20 World Cup 2022, slated to be held in Australia later this year.
The Chetan Sharma-led selection panel is also on the same page and they will identify the players only after giving ample opportunities.
On the other hand, Kohli is very much in the scheme of things for the T20 World Cup and he has reportedly requested the selectors, team management and the BCCI to not consider him for the West Indies T20I series.
As per the report, veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin feature in the team management’s planning and might receive a recall in the T20I team. The off-spinner was part of last year’s T20 World Cup in UAE but was sidelined from the white-ball set-up following the South Africa tour earlier this year.
