Hope tried to reverse scoop a wide ball and only managed to hit his stumps with his bat.
After regular wickets had robbed the innings of too much momentum, Hope attempted to blow up in the final to boost GAW's first innings score during the dying overs. Hope attempted to take a different approach by using a reverse scoop to flick one beyond short third.
But Hope found himself in a mess after bowler Terrence Hinds dug one in short, sluggish, and way outside off-stump. Hope persisted in trying to connect on the scoop rather than giving up what would have been a wide.
However, the ball was so wide that Shai Hope failed to connect with the ball, and the momentum caused his backswing of the bat to loop around and hit the stumps. The stumps lit up, and Hope’s reaction was immediate as he realized the manner in which he had been dismissed.

Guyana managed 163/9 in 20 overs despite being 109/7 at one stage. However, TKR made short work of the chase as Alex Hales (74), Colin Munro (54), and then Andre Russell (27* in 14 balls) took the team to the target with six wickets in hand.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors are currently relegated to a midfield struggle in fourth place, while TKR won their fifth game of the season in six games thus far, securing the top spot in the CPL 2025 standings.
