Hassan Eisakhil played a superb knock of 52 runs in 36 balls, giving his team a solid platform.
The Shpageeza Cricket League (SCL) produced a memorable moment on Tuesday (July 22) when Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi bowled to his own son, Hassan Eisakhil and got hit for a massive six.
This rare father-son duel took place during the first innings of the match between Amo Region and Mis Ainak Region.
Eisakhil, representing Amo Sharks, showed no mercy to his father, smashing him for 12 runs in the over along with his partner Shahidullah. Nabi was soon removed from the attack after this assault.
Earlier, Nabi had expressed his desire to play with his son for Afghanistan. “It’s my dream. Hopefully we can do it. He is doing very well … he is a hard worker and I’m also pushing him to do work.”
“I want him to make his own goals, if you want to get to be a high-level cricketer, you have to work hard. It’s not enough to make 50 or 60, you have to score 100-plus. He’s listening and pushing all the time. When he can talk to me, I try to give him advice to give him confidence for the game.”
Hassan Eisakhil played a superb knock of 52 runs in 36 balls, giving his team a solid platform. However, Amo Sharks eventually scored 162 all-out in 19.4 overs as they suffered a collapse towards the backend of the innings.
Nabi, on the other hand, did not bowl any more overs. He later came out to bat and hit a six as Mis Ainak Region overhauled the target with three overs to spare.
