Delhi and India pacer Navdeep Saini was involved in a rather hilarious scenario, where he had a delayed reaction to being hit by a delivery in his team’s Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Tamil Nadu. His antics helped waste enough time so that Delhi could manage to draw the game.

While Navdeep's performance is a regular method employed by cricketers to pass the time, it turned out to be amusing because of how the player performed it.

The incident happened when Navdeep Saini, who made 15* in 64 balls, was hit by a bouncer on his helmet as he tried to evade the pacy ball. While initially, there was no reaction from Saini, and he gave a thumbs up to the bowler's end, indicating that he was okay.

But a few moments later, he seemed to feel the effect of being hit on the head. He theatrically called for the physio to come out before collapsing on the field dramatically.

Speaking of the game, opener Sanat Sangwan scored a patient 83 as Delhi denied Tamil Nadu an outright victory and earned a point in their Ranji Trophy Group D match in New Delhi on Monday.

Delhi resumed their first innings at 264 for 8, losing their last two wickets for just two runs, leaving centurion Yash Dhull (105 not out) stranded at the other end.

Made to follow on by Tamil Nadu captain N Jagadeesan, Delhi lost Dhull early, but Sangwan put in a valiant effort with the bat, scoring his runs off 231 balls with 12 boundaries.

He had solid support from skipper Himmat Singh (36) and Jonty Sidhu (23) before Delhi survived some nervous moments to complete the last day at 193.
