Indian off-spinner R Ashwin detailed how Rohit Sharma’s captaincy is different from the way his predecessors Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni led the Indian team.

Ashwin had made his India debut under MS Dhoni and reached his peak under the leadership of Virat Kohli. He is now continuing his path to greatness with Rohit Sharma leading the Team India.

Rohit is noted for his acute cricketing mind and ability to make rapid decisions under duress. His field positioning and bowling modifications frequently demonstrate a thorough comprehension of the game.

Rohit is recognized for his calm and cool demeanor on the field, which helps him manage the squad in high-pressure circumstances.

The T20 World Cup-winning captain is known for effectively managing his players, instilling confidence in them, and providing support during difficult times. This has enabled some young players to prosper under his guidance.

And now, a video has become popular on the internet in which Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin compares the captaincy styles of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.

"2-3 things are nice about Rohit's captaincy. He always keeps the environment of the team light. He makes an effort to keep it light. And he stays very balanced and tactically he is strong. Both Dhoni and Virat were also tactically strong but Rohit worked more on the tactics.

If there is any big match or series coming up, Rohit sits with the analytics team and coaches and prepares for it, like what the weakness of a particular batsman, what's the plan of a bowler. That's his strength but he always keeps the environment of the team light and backs the players. If he selects a player in the XI, he backs them 100%. I have played most of my career with these three captains,” Ashwin told journalist Vimal Kumar in an interview.

Ashwin also shared his thoughts on new India coach Gautam Gambhir. Ashwin will play for the first time under Gambhir’s guidance when India hosts Bangladesh for two Tests.

"I have played one or two series with Gauti bhai. Gauti bhai is also very intense. Gauti bhai and Rohit have similarities in their leadership, but Rohit keeps it light and Gauti bhai keeps it intense. It is only a way. Gauti bhai is an intense man, he is very passionate, he is very passionate about Indian cricket, which is exactly how Rahul Dravid is also. Rahul bhai is also passionate about Indian cricket, Gauti is also passionate about Indian cricket, but we feel that both are different because they have different personalities, every human being is different from the other," Ashwin added.

Rohit has demonstrated the ability to change his captaincy approach accordington the situation, whether aggressive or defensive, putting his team in a winning position on numerous occasions.
