Rohit Sharma had to tell fans to stop chanting Mitchell Starc’s name while he was attending an event, but the former India T20I captain had a smile on his face when he said so. Rohit recently led the Indian team to the T20 World Cup 2024 win in the USA and West Indies.

Rohit Sharma had given Indian team flying starts in the group stage, but when it came to crunch part of the tournament in West Indies, he changed gears further and took down big teams like Australia and then England in the semi-final.

Rohit Sharma's brutal attack against Australia's bowling spearhead Mitchell Starc has become part of cricketing folklore, as it not only helped India beat the Aussies but also played a huge part in their early exit from the tournament.

India faced Australia in the 'Super 8s' stage of the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean, and Rohit possibly had the finest performance of the competition, blasting 92 runs off just 41 deliveries.

Starc absorbed the brunt of Rohit's attack, giving 29 runs in one over while being blasted for four sixes and a four.

Recently, when Rohit Sharma attended an event in the US after a small family vacation in the UK, the fans in the audience were shouting “Starc, Starc” as Rohit was speaking. The India Test and ODI captain gave a smile to the audience and then asked them to calm down.

It was the supporters' way of informing the captain that they liked watching him tear the Australian apart and will never forget the pleasure. The yells caught Rohit's attention immediately.

He replied, "Calm down, guys" and followed it up with a cheeky smile while on the stage.
