India captain Rohit Sharma is considered to be a modern-day legend, especially in white-ball cricket. He is the only batter with three double-centuries in ODI cricket and has four centuries in T20Is as well.

He holds the record for most centuries in one edition of the ODI World Cup, when he hit 5 tons in the 2019 edition in England. And now in 2023, he will lead the Indian team in the upcoming World Cup tournament to be held in India from October 5.

India hasn’t won an ICC trophy since the 2013 Champions Trophy win and there are many expectations from Rohit Sharma and co.

During a Q&A with the ICC in the lead up to the ODI World Cup, Rohit was asked several ‘tough’ questions and he aced them with clever and hilarious responses.

He was asked to pick his favorite moment from India’s 1983 World Cup win and the 2011 World Cup win. In 1983, Kapil Dev-led India had stopped the West Indies juggernaut who had won the previous two editions of the tournament in one of the all-time great finals at Lord’s.

In 2011, MS Dhoni and his men battled huge expectations from the home crowd to win the world title crown in front of them, becoming the first ever team to win the tournament at home.

When asked to pick between the two titles, Rohit replied, “Tough one, honestly, I would prefer both actually."

And then he asked whether he would prefer facing Mitchell Starc or Shaheen Afridi, both left-arm pacers.

Rohit, who in the clip said he prefers facing pacers over spinners, responded, “None, both are quality, quite threatening with the new ball, can swing the ball, quite fast. So I would say none."

He also preferred the pull shot over the cover drive and when asked which of his teammates out of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ishan Kishan he prefers sitting with in the team bus.

Rohit Sharma said “Before I go to the game, I want calm, I want peace. None of these guys bring any of those. So none."
