Rohit Sharma celebrates his 36th birthday and wishes pour in from Indian cricket fraternity

Rohit will lead MI against RR at Wankhede on his birthday today in the 1000th game of IPL history.

India and Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma is celebrating his 36th birthday, today on April 30, 2023. He also completed 10 years as Mumbai Indians captain and is the player with most IPL title wins under his belt.  

Rohit won his first IPL title with Deccan Chargers in 2009 and then joined the Mumbai Indians in 2011 and went onto win the IPL title as MI captain five times- 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.

In the Indian Premier League, till date, he has played 234 matches and hit 6060 runs with one century and 41 fifties. He averages 30.15 and has a strike rate of 130.04. He also has a hat-trick to his name in the tournament.

Apart from this, Rohit Sharma has played 49 Tests, 243 ODIs and 148 T20Is so far, scoring 3379, 9825 and 3853 runs respectively, including 42 centuries and 91 half-centuries.  Rohit has scored three double hundreds in ODIs -- the only player to do so.

Rohit Sharma will be captaining the MI side on his birthday today, as they face-off against Rajasthan Royals in what will be the 1000th game in IPL history which will be played at Rohit’s home ground, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
