Archer will lead the MI pace attack in IPL 2023 in absence of Jasprit Bumrah.
The WPL 2023 final got underway at the Brabourne Stadium on March 26, 2023, with Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals (DC) taking on Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians (MI). DC won the toss and chose to bat first.
There was no lack of support for the local MI team as the stadium was filled with the sea of blue and the Mumbai Indians’ men’s team players were also present in the Brabourne stadium to support their women’s counterparts.
In a video shared by MI on Twitter, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Dewald Brevis, and Tim David were seen catching the action in the venue.
Not only were Rohit and co. supporting the MI women, but England fast bowler Jofra Archer and India pacer Jasprit Bumrah were also caught having a chat in a video shared by MI.
While Archer missed the IPL 2022 due to his back issues, he will be leading the MI pace attack this time in IPL 2023. Bumrah, on the other hand, will miss the IPL 2023 after recently undergoing back surgery in New Zealand and will be out of action for some time.

While Meg Lanning (35) gave a solid start to DC, they collapsed from 73/4 to 79/9 in no time with Issy Wong and Hayley Matthews taking 3 wickets each. It was only thanks to 27* each from Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav, that DC managed to put 131/9 on the board.
