The 2023 edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) is slated to get underway on February 13 with Multan Sultans taking on Lahore Qalandars in the opening fixture.

The tournament will be played across four different cities of the country – Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi.

In the build-up to the T20 competition, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam had a face-off with star pacer Shaheen Afridi in the nets at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Taking to Twitter, PSL team Lahore Qalandars shared a video of their clash, in which Shaheen can be seen bowling with full effort while Babar was seen timing his shots perfectly.

Here’s the video:

Having represented Karachi Kings over the last seven editions of the tournament, Babar Azam will turn up for Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming PSL season as captain. He joined the 2017 PSL champions as part of a major trade deal.

"It is an honour for me to lead the franchise, and I'm excited about the new challenge," Babar had said after his appointment.

"Peshawar Zalmi is one of the best teams of PSL and has done well consistently over the past few years," he added.

On the other hand, Shaheen Afridi led Lahore Qalandars to the title triumph last season.
