The SA20 league in South Africa has been producing some eye-catching moments in almost every encounter thus far. The recent most came in an encounter between Pretoria Capitals and MI Cape Town.

The incident featured England batter Will Jacks, who plays for Pretoria, and his countrymate Jofra Archer as the batter hit the pacer over his head which reminded fans of the unforgettable hit that India’s Virat Kohli hit against Pakistan’s Haris Rauf in the T20 World Cup 2022 encounter in Melbourne.

Against MI Cape Town on Monday, Jacks smashed a 19-ball fifty and looked in complete control against the likes of Rashid Khan, Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada, and Sam Curran. In his knock of 62, Jacks hit five fours and as many sixes.

The six, video of which has gone viral on social media, saw Jacks nailing a lofted shot straight down the ground against Jofra Archer and sent cricket fans down memory lane.

On the fifth ball of PC innings, Archer bowled an into-the-pitch delivery outside the off-stump. Will Jacks stood tall and waited for the ball to come into his arc. The batter then lofted the ball with all his might straight over the bowler’s head for a maximum.

This led to many fans remembering the shot by Indian maestro Virat Kohli against Rauf. The commentators were also in awe of the shot, calling it ‘shot of the week’.

Here is the video:

The Capitals put on 182/8 on the back of Jacks’ 62, contributions from Kusal Mendis (29 off 19), Theunis de Bruyn (36 off 26), and Jimmy Neesham (22 off 18). Then Wayne Parnell’s side bundled MI for 130 with Parnell and Anrich Nortje bagging three wickets each and Adil Rashid taking two.
