Warner prodded Marnus to gift the young fan his shirt, while the Aussie batter smiled.
Dawid Malan’s career-best of 134 runs guided the Three Lions to a respectable total of 287 runs as they were put to bat first. However, David Warner’s 86, Steve Smith’s 80*, and 69 from Travis Head were enough for Australia to cross the finishing line with 6 wickets in hand.
During the midst of the Australia batting innings, Warner and a young fan from the stands engaged in a rather hilarious banter.
The young fan held a placard reading: “David Warner, can I have your shirt” when the camera was on him. David Warner, who was sitting in the pavilion, noticed the fan and though he showed he wasn’t wearing any shirt under his overalls, decided to reply to the fan.
“Get one off Marnus”- David Warner held a placard of his own, telling the fan to request Marnus Labuschagne, who was sitting beside him, to present him with one of his shirts. Then another fan came into the camera shot holding a placard that read: “Marnus, Can I Please have your shirt?”
