Indian cricket fraternity sends birthday wishes to Virat Kohli as he turns 34

Widely regarded as one of India’s greatest batters of all time, Virat Kohli is celebrating his 34th birthday today (November 5).

Having made his international debut in 2008, Kohli has taken Indian cricket to greater heights both as a batter and captain.

Kohli averages a mind-boggling 57.68 in the 50-over format from 262 matches with 12,344 runs while his T20I average reads 53.13 in 113 games with 3932 runs. He has also proved his mettle in Test cricket, scoring 8074 runs at an average of 49.53 from 102 matches including 27 tons.

As a captain, Kohli led India to 40 wins in 68 Tests, 65 wins from 95 ODIs and 30 wins from 50 T20Is. Under his leadership, India also dominated Test cricket as a team, claiming the No. 1 spot in the ICC rankings for almost five years and registering series wins in Australia, West Indies, and Sri Lanka.

Virat Kohli is currently in Australia with the national side for the T20 World Cup 2022. He is having a great time with the bat in the showpiece tournament Down Under.

Kohli slammed a match-winning 82* against arch-rivals Pakistan followed by scores of 62*, 12 and 64* versus Netherlands, South Africa and Bangladesh, respectively.

Thanks to his performances, the Men in Blue are still in the race to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals.

On his 34th birthday, wishes poured in for Virat Kohli from the Indian cricket fraternity on micro-blogging site Twitter.
