Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor was trolled by fans on Twitter after he used a photo of the 2018 U19 World Cup-winning Indian team to congratulate the victorious Indian U19 team of the recent 2022 World Cup, captain by Yash Dhull.

Indian colts thumped England by four wickets in the final to clinch the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2022 in Antigua.

Asked to bowl first, the Yash Dhull-led side displayed a superlative bowling performance. The duo of Raj Bawa (5/31) and Ravi Kumar (4/34) took nine wickets between them as India bundled out England for just 189 runs.

Chasing the target, even though India kept losing wickets at regular intervals but a half-century from vice-captain Shaik Rasheed (50), Raj Bawa’s 35 and Nishant Sindhu’s unbeaten 50 runs kept them in the game.

With 7 runs needed, keeper-batter Dinesh Bana smashed two consecutive sixes to finish the game for his side and clinch the fifth U19 Cricket World Cup for India.

U19 World Cup 2022 winning Indian team earned rich praises from many fans and pundits.

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Bollywood actors including Anupam Kher, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, and many more lauded the Indian colts for their achievement.

However, film star Shahid Kapoor made an error as he posted a picture of the Prithvi Shaw-led side, which won the 2018 U-19 World Cup while congratulating the 2022 World Cup-winning team.

"They bring the World Cup home. Huge congratulations to the India Under19 squad. #BleedBlue," Shahid Kapoor captioned his Instagram story

Fans were quick to notice the Bollywood actor’s gaffe and trolled him on Twitter for congratulating the wrong Indian U19 team. Interestingly, Shahid Kapoor will be seen playing a cricketer in his next movie release, a remake of Telugu superhit Jersey.
