Former Indian seamer Munaf Patel has revealed what he told Mohammad Hafeez after he dismissed him in the World Cup 2011 semifinal match, which India won by 29 runs.

Chasing the target of 261 runs, Pakistan opener Mohammad Hafeez was looking in great touch as he gave his team a solid start.

The veteran batsman, however, gave his wicket away as he tried to play an unorthodox shot off a simple length delivery outside off and ended up edging the delivery to wicket-keeper MS Dhoni.

As Mohammad Hafeez went back after scoring 43 runs in 59 balls, Indian pacer Munaf Patel was seen firing a few words at the batsman.

More than 10 years after India’s 2011 World Cup win, Munaf Patel revealed what he told the batsman. Taking to his official Twitter account the pacer shared a picture of the dismissal, asking fans whether they remember the moment.

Replying to the picture, one fan asked him what he said to Hafeez after dismissing him, Patel responded that he thanked him for gifting him the wicket.

"Hahaha, Sir. Remember I asked u about this dismissal. U didn’t tell what exactly u said to Hafeez,” the fan asked.

"I thanked Hafeez for giving me wicket. Hehehe,” Munaf Patel replied.
