West Indies have whitewashed Bangladesh for the third time in their own backyard.
Bangladesh was missing just Shakib Al Hasan in this Test match due to an injury. West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and chose to bat first.

Thanks to Nkrumah Bonner (90), Joshua Da Silva (92), and Alzarri Joseph (82), West Indies posted 409 runs in their first innings. For Bangladesh, Abu Jayed (4/98) and Taijul Islam (4/108) were the picks of the bowlers.
However, West Indies struck hard in the second innings, routing Bangladesh for 117 runs with Taijul adding four more wickets to his first-innings haul. Nayeem Hasan also picked 3/34. The home team was set 231 to win and equal the series 1-0 and avert a 2-0 whitewash.
Tamim Iqbal made 50, while Miraz made 31 and captain Mominul Haque made 26, but the West Indies bowlers kept the pressure on the Bangladeshi batsmen throughout the innings.
West Indies won the Test match by 17 runs in the extra half-an-hour of play and also won the Test series 2-0. Cornwall was the star of the series with his 14 wickets. He was named the Player of the Match, while Nkrumah Bonner was named the Player of the Series.
This is only the fourth whitewash West Indies have inflicted on a home team. The last three have been in Bangladesh. Before that, they had blanked England in a five-Test series in 1984.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for the new-look West Indies team which beat a full-strength Bangladesh team in their own backyard.
