South Africa will play two Tests and three T20Is in their tour of Pakistan.
The Proteas last toured Pakistan in late 2007 under Graeme Smith’s captaincy. Since then, Pakistan has twice hosted South Africa twice but both the series were held in UAE because of security reasons.
Notably, international teams were unwilling to travel to Pakistan after terrorists attacked a Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009.
Upon arriving in Karachi, South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi took to Twitter to give an insight of security arrangements.
The first Test will be played in Karachi from January 26 while Rawalpindi will host the second Test from February 4.
Following the two Tests, Lahore will host three T20Is from February 11.
